Today we looked at the reaction that occurred between the ingredients
baking soda and vinegar when we combined them
to make a volcano in our classroom.
Into the volcano (a narrow jar with sand around it) we put:
1/4 cup of water
1/4 cup of Baking Soda
3 Tablespoons of dish-washing liquid
2 drops of red food colouring...
and then we added
1/4 cup of Vinegar
and watched what happened.
We noticed that when the vinegar (liquid) reacted with the
baking soda (solid) it created a gas (the bubbles in the lava).
